Global Desk News exists to give readers accurate, clearly sourced coverage of US, UK and world events. This page sets out the rules we follow and how we fix mistakes.
Sourcing and Verification
- Factual claims must be confirmed by at least two independent, reputable sources, or by one primary source such as an official statement, court filing, government data or company filing.
- We read the full source page. We do not write from headlines or search snippets.
- Social media posts, forums, blogs and aggregator sites are not treated as sources. A post from an official, verified account may be cited only when that post is itself the story, and we say so.
- If a claim cannot be verified, we do not publish it.
- Allegations are reported as allegations, with attribution. We do not name suspects or victims before official release, and we do not speculate about causes.
Timeliness
- Every article shows its publication date. We check the date on our sources and do not present older news as new.
- When we update an article, we add an update note with the date.
Original Writing and Images
- We write our own text and credit the outlets and documents we rely on, with links where possible.
- Images are our own, licensed, or public domain, and are credited with the creator and licence. We do not use AI-generated images to depict real events or real people.
News, Analysis and Opinion
News reports are neutral. Analysis and opinion are labelled as such. We do not give medical, legal or financial advice.
How We Use AI
We use AI-assisted tools for research and drafting. Nothing is published automatically: every article is checked against its sources and approved by the editor before it goes live. AI tools are not an authority, and a fact is only published once it is confirmed by a source listed above.
Editorial Independence
Our coverage is not influenced by advertisers or partners. We may show advertising, including Google AdSense, and it is kept separate from editorial decisions.
Corrections Policy
- When we find or are told about an error, we check it promptly and correct it.
- For a material correction, we add a visible, dated correction note at the bottom of the article that says what was changed.
- For a minor fix such as a typo, we may correct the text without a note.
- If a story cannot be supported by sources, we remove it.
To report an error, email zuffikhaan@gmail.com with the subject line "Correction", the article link, and the correction. See also our Contact page.
